Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

The one place no true baseball fan will want to miss out on, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown is the greatest collection of baseball exhibits and presentations in the world. Highlighting legendary players, coaches and history of baseball through its unparalleled collection, special items include player photos and original uniforms. A top highlight is the popular Plaque Gallery, where you can see the induction plaques of every current Hall of Fame member.

National Baseball Hall of Fame

Limited paid parking is available at the Doubleday Field Parking Lot on Main Street. Several free parking lots are available around the city, and offer seasonal Trolley rides to the Hall of Fame for $2.00.
The Baseball Hall of Fame is open daily from 9am-5pm, with extended summer hours of 9am-9pm from Memorial Day Weekend through the day before Labor Day. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

What is the selection process to get into the Baseball Hall of Fame?


Any professional player with 10 years of major league experience who has been retired for at least five years is eligible for consideration. Candidates are elected by a Baseball Writers Association of America member and must pass a screening committee. Each BBWAA writer then votes for up to 10 players on the final ballot of 25-40 players.

How large is the museum?


The three-story, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum features a collection of almost 3.5 million items of memorabilia, including equipment, uniforms, baseball cards, books, photographs, and the popular Plaque Gallery serving as a high-point for visitors.
